About Our Clinical Trials
Every drug/medication including over the counter ones such as aspirin
and Tylenol are monitored by the FDA. All medications go through a research
process in which they are evaluated for safety, tolerability, and efficacy.
This process usually lasts 8 to 10 years. The FDA only approves a medication
if it is better than what is currently available or if it has less side
effects than what is currently available.
Every time you have a headache
and take an aspirin or a take an antacid for a stomach you
are benefiting from clinical trials. These drugs went through
the research process before they were available to you and
me. Clinical
trials play an important role in developing new medications,
treatments and devices to treat and control symptoms of conditions
and diseases. Diseases
such as cancer, diabetes, alzheimer, HIV/ AIDS, etc… still
do not have cures.
Mental health issues are medical conditions and are just as
important as other conditions. Unfortunately many people are
ashamed to admit when they have a mental health issue, even
though it is a biological abnormality.
